Israel`s Benayoun in doubt for Euro 2008 tie against Russia
Israel captain Yossi Benayoun is to undergo a scan on an adductor injury which could keep him out of his country`s Euro 2008 qualifier against Russia next week.
The winger will consult doctors on Sunday over whether he can take part in a match which could seal England`s fate of not reaching the Euro 2008 finals.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez said: "Yossi has picked up an injury (against Fulham) and it is very, very doubtful that he will join up with his country."
If Israel lose to Russia in Tel-Aviv on Saturday England would miss out on a major tournament for the first time since the 1994 World Cup.
